Construction
This jumper is worked mostly flat in stockinette stitch from the bottom up. You will first work the back panel flat, followed by the front panel. The vertical stripes are worked using the Intarsia technique. You will join the shoulder seams to create the neck hole using the Three Needle Bind Off method. To create the armholes, you will use a variation of the Horizontal Mattress stitch to seam the left side together. The bottom ribbing is worked separately and is then seamed to the body. You will then use the variation of the Horizontal Mattress stitch to seam the right side of the body. The neck trim and sleeves are worked in the round by picking up stitches along the neck hole/armhole edges. To avoid weaving in so many ends, follow the instructions for the Weavin’ Stephen technique to learn how to weave in ends as you go. Follow the instructions for Jogless Stripes to avoid jogs when knitting your stripes in the round while making the sleeves.
